I have a feeling I might have touched a nerve on Monday. It might seem like I am selectively outraged because I do not write an article every time somebody in the United States of America says something offensive. In fact, you very well might have gone back in the archives to see if I wrote something during the campaign when Donald Trump said so many terrible things. I did not to be entirely fair with you.
I just want to make something explicitly clear with this blog post today.
I do not write around the clock, and I do not write about everything that takes place in the world. I try to write about things that are interesting and worth talking about. This of course does not mean that there are not plenty of other important things that I don’t care about. I simply do not have the ability to create content all the time about every issue that arises.
Therefore, I want to outline a little process that I think might be useful to you if you thought that I was being selectively outraged on Monday about Kathy Griffin but have not been sufficiently outraged about your token issue.
1. Always feel free to email me. I tried to respond to emails rather promptly, and I’m happy to talk about different issues with you. That’s always an easy option.
2. Read a little bit about my worldview that I have tried to outline on this website through my writings. I have outlined several general principles that I believe in. For example, from my post on Monday, it should be rather obvious that I believe in freedom of speech and freedom of expression while simultaneously desiring human decency.
3. Consider how my worldview would address your particular concern. If you are curious how I feel about state-controlled media in North Korea, even though I have never written about that subject in particular, you can probably assume that given my commitment to free speech, I would oppose state-controlled media.
Like I said, I do not have unlimited time to write about every single issue facing humanity today. There are plenty of things that I would love to write about, but I haven’t gotten to yet. There are some topics I am probably never going to get the opportunity to write about because either I don’t think people will be interested in hearing my thoughts on them or I don’t necessarily have strong feelings on that particular issue.
However, there are plenty of other important topics that I could and should talk about. Of course there are terrible things that happen in the world every day, and plenty of them are more important than Kathy Griffin and the evidence of moral decay in Western civilization. However, I am of course the writer on this website, and I do write about what I feel at the time. I read about what is on my mind, and I try to share my mind with you. I admit that my mind is not always focused on major issues.
Rather, look at what I have written before, and you can probably make a pretty educated guess as to how I feel about certain topics. How do I feel about vulgarity in politics? Probably just about the same as I feel about Kathy Griffin. How do I feel about the horrific levels of hunger around the world? You know I am pro-life, so you can assume that I am most likely for developing programs to stop this problem because you know I believe all lives are valuable. I attempt to be consistent in my worldview.
Beyond that, like I said, I have a contact page for a reason. Feel free to get in touch, and we can talk. Get my newsletter and free e-book too!
